Expect spouses to be home at certain time for dinner, and they aren't. Expect our teenage son to come home early, and he doesn't. We expect friendship to be pleasant, rewarding and uncomplicated, and it isn't. When we expect to receive that raise, that bonus, that promotion, and we don't. We inevitably feel "disapointed", then "discouraged", and........finally "despair" if the broken expectation is big enough. If you were to make alist of the most prevalent root problems in people's lifes, what would be on it? "Bitterness" will be on top of the list, cos bitterness often is rooted in ill-defined expectations. And also a misplaced point of ultimate trust. If we expect life to be nicer, expect people not to use, manipulate, ignore, misunderstand or abuse us. If we expect something outside the span of reality.....then it's inevitable that our dreams will become nightmares. ღ♥ღ  Monday, February 16, 2009. Love is like magic, and it always will be.
